Bears seek upset of ETSU before regular season finale against Samford
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team will conclude the 2019 regular season by hosting Southern Conference foes ETSU and Samford this weekend at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center.
Â
Mercer (10-12, 3-2 SoCon) will seek an upset of ETSU (15-4, 5-0) at 2:30 p.m. Friday before shifting its focus to a regular-season finale against Samford (9-9, 1-4) at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Bears enter the weekend ranked third in the SoCon standings; a win over the Bucs would snap their 46-match conference win streak, which dates back to the 2013 season when they were members of the ASUN Conference.
Â
Mercer has played well at home this spring, owning a 5-1 record on its own court. The Bears have only played one SoCon match at home so far this season.
Â
Three Bears will be honored during a Senior Day ceremony prior to Saturday's match against Samford. Seniors Fernando Guardia, Nicolas Guillon and Jordan Mark will be recognized prior the regular season finale.
