Arant clinched the win for the Bears

MACON, Ga. - Playing its first home match of the season, the Mercer men's tennis team came away with a 4-3 victory on Saturday afternoon over Presbyterian College.

The win for the Bears snapped a three-match losing streak. With the Bears leading, 3-2, Carver Arant won a three-set match in No. 3 singles to clinch the match. After dropping the first set, Carver came back with a 6-1, 6-2 wins to win the match for the Bears.

Opening with doubles, Olivier Stuart and Hugo Lobo wasted little time against the team from Presbyterian. Stuart and Lobo won, 6-1. Needing to take one more doubles, the Blue Hose came and won No. 3 doubles. Stathis Tsiranidis and David Georgadze, won No. 2 doubles, 6-4, clinching doubles for the Bears.

The Bears grew its lead to 3-0 after Lucas Wayenburg won No. 6 singles and Olivier Stuart won No. 1 singles. After dropping two matches, No. 5 and No. 4 singles, Arant clinched the match for the Bears with his second singles win of the season.
