The contest concludes a seven-game road trip

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer softball team will make another trip to the Sunshine State when they head to Tallahassee to take on Florida A&M on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The Bears recently wrapped up play at The Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Fla., with a 3-2 record. Mercer earned wins over Monmouth (4-1, 9 innings), Akron (10-7) and Middle Tennessee State (10-6). Kenlie Harvey provided the heroics against Akron with a three-run walkoff home run, while the Bears battled back from a 5-0 deficit to defeat the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State.

Mercer owns a 26-21 all-time record against Florida A&M and has won three consecutive contests.

QUICK HITS

After falling to Georgia Southern to begin play last week, the Bears recorded a 3-2 mark at The Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Fla.
Kenlie Harvey collected six hits in 17 at-bats last week. She was an impressive 5-for-14 (.357) with three home runs in Madeira Beach.
As a team, the Bears rank 56th in the country with a .307 batting average.
Micayla Rood ranks ninth nationally with 16 hits, which is tops among all Southern Conference players.
Elisa Rosado (13 hits) and Danielle Castleberry (12 hits) rank third and fifth respectively among the SoCon hits leaders.
Allie Jones sits atop the standings in the SoCon and is 50th nationally in stolen bases per game (0.64). She also leads the league with seven stolen bases.

SERIES HISTORY
Tomorrow marks the 48th meeting between the Bears and Rattlers. Mercer owns a 26-21 record against Florida A&M, including a 12-11 mark on the road. During her time at Mercer, head coach Stephanie DeFeo is 7-1 against Rattlers. Since being named head coach in 1990, Florida A&M's Veronica Wiggins is 19-24 against Mercer.

SCOUTING FLORIDA A&M
Florida A&M is winless through 10 games but has played six games against teams in the top-25. The Rattlers have battled No. 6 LSU, No.8 Florida, No. 9 Florida State and No. 13 Oklahoma State. Florida A&M nearly upset Florida on Sunday, but the Gators prevailed with a 2-1 win.

Jamesiaa Stoudemire has been solid in the batter's box for the Rattlers. She has started all 10 games and is hitting .345 (10-for-29) with a double and two RBI. Stoudemire's two RBI ties for the team lead with Melkayla Irvis and Brandice Boatwright.

In the circle, Nadia Zenteno and Gabriella Williams have both tossed three complete games. Despite going the distance, Zenteno has an ERA of 7.15 while Williams' earned run average is higher than 10. Zenteno leads Florida A&M's staff with seven strikeouts.
