MACON, Ga. – Mercer men's lacrosse will welcome the Hampton Pirates on Saturday for an afternoon matchup. The game is set for 12 p.m.

ABOUT THE BEARS
Mercer has registered a .660 face-off percentage which ranks eighth nationally and first in the Southern Conference. Attacker Sean Goldsmith has averaged 4.50 goals per game while Michael Quinn has 2.00, which ranks first and seventh in the conference. Mercer ranks first in groundballs per game with 34.00 in the Southern Conference. Freshman Colin Kelley has registered 15 saves against 59 shots faced. The Bears have ten players with goals on the season. They are led by Sean Goldsmith with nine. Mercer is ranked eighth in the country in face-off winning percentage (.660).
SCOUTING HAMPTON
Hampton enters the contest with a 0-3 record on the season. The losses come from NJIT, Furman, and Bellarmine. The Pirates finished the 2019 season with an overall record of 6-5. Hampton welcome 10 new faces to the squad. Three Pirates lead the team with three goals each - Derian Williams-Sturdivant, Elliott Johnson III, and Pierce Johnson. Sophomore Ian Groom leads the team in groundballs with 29 on the season. He also has a face off record of 45-78 (.523%), which ranks first in the Big South. Goalies Paxtin Powell and Kevin Mondy Jr. have a combined save total of 44. They rank first in the conference in saves per game with an average of 14.67. Head coach Rashad Devoe is in his first season at the helm of the Pirates. He has a career record of 23-27.
