Mercer fell to No. 10 Georgia
ATHENS, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team dropped its second straight match, this time to No. 10 University of Georgia. The Bulldogs defeated the Bears, 7-0.
The Bears battled Georgia tough throughout the day. In doubles, Philip Henning and Erik Grevelius won 6-2 over Andrew Branicki and Samuel Macleod. They clinched the doubles point with a 6-1 victory in No. 3 doubles. In No. 1 singles Hugo Lobo and Lucas Wayenburg played No. 8 ranked Trent Bryde and Tyler Zink. However, the Georgia team away with a 6-2 win.
In singles the Bears No. 4 singles Samuel Macleod faced Baptiste Anselmo and challenged the Bulldog. After dropping set one 6-4, Macleod forced the second set into a tiebreaker. He ended up dropping the tiebreak 7-4 and the set 7-6.
