Men’s Tennis Earn First Win of the Season

The Bears take down Alabama State, 6-1
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Mercer men's tennis team earned its first win of the season with a 6-1 victory over Alabama State on Wednesday.
Hugo Lobo and Lucas Wayenburg raced out to a No. 1 doubles victory on Wednesday, winning 6-1. After dropping No. 3 doubles, the Bears needed to win No. 2 double to take the point. The Mercer duo of Andrew Branicki and Samuel Macleod came away with a 7-5 win and clinched the double point for the Bears.
Mercer extended the lead to 3-0 after taking No. 6 and No. 2 singles. David Georgadze won No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-1, while Hugo Logo won No. 2 6-2, 7-5. Danny Flynn clinched the match for the Bears with a 6-2, 6-4 victory in No. 5. This secured the Bears their first win of the season.
Samuel Macleod claimed No. 4 singles with a 6-2, 6-3 victory. The last win for the Bears came in No. 1 singles, where Wayenburg claimed a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
