Mercer to Host Christmas Game Against Troy

MACON, Ga. – Mercer will host the Troy Trojans in Hawkins Arena on Dec. 22 for the annual Christmas Game, after its previous travels to FGCU. The tip-off slated at 6 p.m. in Macon. Fans, you can purchase your tickets for the game here. Use the Promo Code "MUFAITH" for $4 tickets!

The Bears are coming a 67-55 loss to Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. In that contest, three players reached double-digits in scoring with James Glisson III (19), Jalen Johnson (18), Felipe Haase (11). Johnson recorded his first career double-double against the Eagles. Kamar Robertson and Glisson III combined for 10 rebounds. Jacksen Greco also recorded two steals on the day, which ties his career high for the sophomore guard.
SERIES HISTORY:
The series is set at 9-10 between these two teams, with the Trojans on top. The most three pointers made in Hawkins for the Bears was against Troy on 1/31/05 with 22. In that same match-up, the Bears scored 105 points.
SCOUTING THE TROJANS:
The Trojans are coming off their third straight win with an 84-64 victory over Arkansas Baptist in the Trojan Arena. In this contest, Troy (8-4) was led by Rifen Miguel, who finished with his first Trojan double-double ending the night with 17 points and pulling down a team high 10 rebounds. Kieffer Punter also added 17 points, and Christian Turner finished with 13. The Trojans shot 48 percent from the field, forcing 18 Buffalo turnovers. In addition, the Trojans worked the glass as they finished with 46 total rebounds, one shy of their season high. Troy is now 5-1 at home. Also, in his first start of the season and in 23 minutes of game time, Turner didn't miss a shot going 5-5 from the field, knocking down his only three-point attempt of the game, and hitting both his free throws.
