Mercer will play four games in Murfreesboro, Tenn., this weekend

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer softball team heads up to the Volunteer State this weekend to take part in the Middle Tennessee State Tournament.

MERCER QUICK HITS

The Bears are 32nd in the nation in stolen bases averaging 1.75 steals per game.
Sophomore Elisa Rosado is ninth in the country with three triples.
Freshman Madi Joice ranks 10th in the NCAA in saves with two.
Rosado and senior Micayla Rood have both recorded a team-high 19 hits.
Sophomore Sophie Sumner leads the team with two home runs.

SCOUTING MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE
MTSU enters this weekend with a record of 9-10 after winning five of its last seven games. The Blue Raiders are led by Keici Hill, who is hitting a team-best .321 (18-for-56) with three doubles, five RBI and four runs scored. Lexi Cushing has provided some pop in the MTSU lineup with a team-high two home runs and nine RBI. In the circle, Corina Dodd owns a perfect 2-0 record to go along with a 0.92 ERA in 30.1 innings of work.

SCOUTING WESTERN ILLINOIS
The Fighting Leathernecks are an even 8-8 on the season headed into this weekend after going 1-4 at the Saint Louis Spring Tournament. Western Illinois is led by Piper Foote and Savannah Rodriguez who have each recorded a team-high 17 hits on the year. Foote boasts a team-best .417 batting average (17-for-41) with three doubles, a triple, a home run, seven RBI and a team-high 14 runs scored. Rodriguez has driven in the most runs with 14 RBI while collecting four doubles and two long balls. In the circle, Western Illinois sports a 3.23 team ERA, led by Rodriguez (1.59 ERA) and Maddy Anderson (1.91 ERA). Abby Carlin has thrown a team-high 49.1 innings while striking out 65 opposing hitters.
