Men’s Tennis Sweeps The Citadel

Mercer took both matches against the Bulldogs on Wednesday
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Mercer men's tennis team got back in the win column with a pair of victories over The Citadel on Wednesday. Mercer took the first match 7-0, and the second match, 6-0. With the wins, Mercer has won seven of its last eight matches.
Match 1
The Bears got back in the win column against The Citadel in match one. Mercer jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after Michael Durham and Samuel Barrow took the first doubles match of the day, 6-1, over Phillip Quinn and Lucas Robins. Lucas Wayenburg and Hugo Lobo clinched the doubles point for Mercer with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Mercer also took the No. 2 doubles match as Carver Arant and David Georgadze won 6-4.
The winning continued for the Bears in singles play. Durham clinched the first singles match of the day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles. Mercer went to a 3-0 lead in the match when Arant won in straight sets in on court three. Lucas Wayenburg clinched the match with a straight-set victory.
The winning didn't stop as Georgadze won at No. 4 singles. Georgadze won 6-3, 6-2 over Phillip Quinn. Barrow and Lobo went to a tiebreaker in their matches. They both dropped set one but rebounded taking set two and the tiebreaker. Lobo was victories at No. 1 singles, while Barrow won at No. 6 singles.

Just playing singles in the second matchup, the Bears made quick work of the Bulldogs. Lucas Wayenburg came away with the first point of the match when he won at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-2 over Will Graham. Georgadze got the second point when he defeated Schainbltatt, 6-4, 6-2 in the third flight.
The points kept coming as Danny Flynn tallied a 7-5, 6-2 victory in flight No. 6. The match was clinched by Samuel Barrow. Barrow earned a win at No. 5 singles. He won 6-3, 6-3 over Darby.
Durham earned his second win of the day at No. 4 with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Quinn. Lobo's match was the final contest to finish when he won in three sets. He dropped the first and then won the next two sets.
