Samuel MacLeod earned singles win on court three
KENNESAW, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis program (0-2, 0-0) dropped its second match of the season at Kennesaw State (1-0, 0-0) on Monday afternoon. Junior Samuel MacLeod earned his first singles win of the season on court three, defeating Hugo Salmeron 6-4, 2-6, 6-1.
Kennesaw State took an early lead after winning the doubles point with victories on courts two and three. Two other singles matches also went to three sets; Andrew Branicki won the first set on court four in a tiebreak but fell in the final two sets. Samuel Barrow also claimed his first set on court six but was defeated in the end.
UP NEXT: Mercer is back in action on January 28 as the Bears host Alabama A&M and Piedmont.
