Bears Travel for Pair of Matches in Florida

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team will travel to Deland, Florida and will play Florida Atlantic on Friday, February 10 at 10 a.m. The Bears also face Stetson on Saturday, February 11 at 1 p.m.

RECENT ACTION
The Bears played a doubleheader against ABAC last weekend, winning 5-2 and 7-0. Marceau Foulihoux and Lucas Dini played in the third doubles slot and went 4-0 over their opponents, including singles victories. Samuel MacLeod earned a singles win over the 4^th-ranked JUCO singles player, and Mariano Argote defeated the 16^th-ranked JUCO singles player.

SCOUTING FAU
The Owls traveled to Austin, Texas for the ITA Kickoff Weekend and faced Arizona, losing 0-4, and the University of California Berkeley, losing 1-4. FAU's three wins this season came from matches against Rice (4-3), South Florida (4-0), and Florida Gulf Coast (5-2).

The Bears' last match up with FAU was February 19, 2022 where Mercer fell 7-0. Mercer has only topped the Owls two times out of the six meetings with the last win being in the 2017-18 season. The Owls finished 49^th in the ITA rankings last season.

SCOUTING STETSON
The Hatters have only lost to South Florida this season while beating multiple weaker in-state opponents. Stetson finished 11-10 overall and 4-4 in the ASUN last season.

Sophomores Ervin Haris Eminefendic and Sami Ozzor were named to the ASUN All-Freshman team after their 2022 season performances. This season Eminefendic has consistently been playing at the fourth singles slot and the second doubles slot with Juan Jose Rodriguez.
