Bears On The Way To Tuscaloosa

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer softball team will be on the road this weekend for the Easton Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, AL.

"We've put together a couple of good days of practice preparing for the big stage this weekend," said head coach Fico. "We're focused on limiting the defensive mistakes and having a more competitive approach in the box. I look forward to seeing it pay off. I'm excited for the team to experience an atmosphere like Rhoads."

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
Longwood University
The Longwood Lancers are currently 8-6 on the season with the last four match ups being wins. This will be the first meeting between Mercer and Longwood. The Bears will have to watch out for Big South Freshman of the Week, Maryanna Guy who recorded .500 hit across Longwood's four past wins.
Robert Morris
The RMU Colonials are 4-5 overall with their last winning coming against Charleston this past weekend. This will be the second all-time matchup with the Bears leading 1-0. Mercer will have look out for Avery Winchell who posts a .259 hitting average with seven hits on the season.
Alabama University
The Crimson Tide are 12-3 on the season with their only losses coming from Kennesaw, #2 UCLA, and Lehigh. Alabama leads the series 4-0 with the last meeting happening in 2016. Mercer will have to watch out for pitcher, Montana Fouts who is coming off 10 strikeouts over 6.0 innings against Southern Miss.
