MACON, Ga. – The Mercer softball team will be traveling to Birmingham, AL this weekend for their first weekend of Southern Conference play against Samford.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
    The Samford Bulldogs are 11-18 on the season and have yet to start conference play. The Bulldogs picked up two wins this past weekend at the Ole Miss Tournament against Ole Miss and St. Thomas. The Bears trail in the series 17-22 with Mercer only winning one of the last six matchups. Mercer will have to watch out for catcher Logan Champion who recorded her first four-hit game of her career against Ole Miss and posts a .374 HIT%.
