Tallahassee, FL . – The Bears finished 3-2 against Florida A&M this afternoon.Â
How It Happened
The Bears were served a three up three down in the top of the first and held two runners on base to finish the first scoreless. The top of the second brought singles from Bailey Ledvina and Tori Hedgecock. Both were advanced into scoring position due to a SAC bunt from Morgan Hall. Grace Prom singled to right field to bring both Ledvina and Hedgecock home. A walk for Parris Wiggs and Rebeca Laudino juiced the bases, but the Bears left them stranded. Mercer quickly shut down the rattlers with no runs or hits to finish the second leading 2-0.Â
Not much happened for either team in the third and FAMU picked up one run on two hits to finish the fourth trailing 1-2. The Rattlers were able to hold the Bears in the top of the fifth and tie it at two in the bottom. Hall doubled up the middle and was advanced to third by Prom. The Bears would leave her stranded. Madi Wicker stepped into the circle at the bottom of the sixth and held one on base to keep the game tied 2-2 heading into the seventh. Mercer was unable to heat up and FAMU got one run in to take the game 3-2. Â
