Bears To Host UTC This Weekend

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer softball team will be back in Macon this weekend to face off against the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. This will be their second series of SoCon play this year.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
    The Mocs are 15-13 on the season and have yet to open up conference play. They are coming off a 3-1 win over Lipscomb University. UTC leads the series 28-24 with Mercer winning one of the last three matchups. The Bears will have to look out for SoCon player of the week (March 20) Kaili Phillips. Philips currently has five home runs this season with a .358 batting average.

NOTABLE BEARS IN THE SOCON

Rebeca Laudino sits third for batting average( .374) and first for hits at 37 and stolen bases, 11.
Tori Hedgecock sits tied for first in the conference for home runs recording nine homers so far this season.
Bailey Ledvina leads the conference in SAC bunts with eight on the season.
Grace Taylor is second for total innings pitched (89) and first in starts (16).
