STATESBORO, Ga. –The Mercer men's soccer team would draw 1-1 against Georgia Southern on Tuesday, September 19 at Eagle Field at Erik Park in Statesboro, Georgia.

Mercer moves to 4-1-3 on the season, while Georgia Southern moves to 1-3-3 on the season. The Eagles would start the scoring off in the 33rd minute. The Bears would battle back into the game finding the equalizing goal from freshman forward Barzee Blama. Blama and the other forwards began to press the defense more in the second half causing them to make mistakes that led to many opportunities for the Bears. The Bears were able to capitalize off the mistake from Georgia Southern's Goalkeeper in the 66th minute, evening the score back up. Despite pressing hard in the closing minutes, the Bears were unable to find another goal before the final whistle.
