
Another Dominant Win For Mercer In 7-0 Sweep Over Bethune-Cookman

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Mercer women's tennis team has started its spring season with two 7-0 wins following a strong showing Friday in Dayonta Beach, Florida as the Bears defeated Bethune-Cookman, 7-0.
The Bears were dominant in their two doubles matches, not dropping a game in either of the two matches. Teodora Ristic and Marina de Diego Quinones defeated Bethune-Cookman's Jalayah Shaw and Allexii Bassette, 6-0. Mercer's Emilia Cosatto and Lea Falentin also won their doubles match 6-0, defeating Bethune-Cookman's Janet Imbo Nloga and Loncey Elie.
In five singles matches, Mercer dropped just one set. Emilia Cosatto and Lea Falentin each won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0. Cosatto defeated Bethune-Cookman's Coudeja Shaw and Falentin defeated the Wildcats' Loncey Elie.
Teodora Ristic dropped just one game on her way to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Bethune-Cookman's Jalayah Shaw. Mercer's Mariella Minetti won her match 6-1, 6-1 over Bethune-Cookman's Allexii Bassette. Meanwhile, Marina de Diego Quinones won her match over Bethune-Cookman's Janet Imbo Nlogain, in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 10-3.
Next up for Mercer is a short trip over to DeLand, Florida to play Stetson on Saturday at 10 a.m.
