
Fordham, No. 10 Clemson Tops Bears At Tiger Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Mercer softball team registered a combined 13 hits on the afternoon, but could not avoid surrendering big innings in dropping a pair of games on Friday at the Clemson-hosted Tiger Invitational. Fordham used a 3-run fifth inning to top MU, 3-1, while the 10th-ranked Tigers erupted early on the way to a 7-2 triumph.

The results marked the fifth- and sixth-straight setbacks for Mercer (8-11) who will close out its portion of play at the round-robin tournament on Saturday with a mid-afternoon matchup against Longwood.
