Bears Open Spring Season With Wexford Intercollegiate Monday

MACON – The Mercer men's golf team begins their spring slate on Monday when they travel to Hilton Head Island, S.C. for the Wexford Intercollegiate. The two-day event, hosted by Francis Marion, will be played at Wexford Golf Club's Arnold Palmer Signature Course and features an 18-team field.

The Bears last played on November 2-4 at the Fripp Island Intercollegiate. Mercer finished the event tied for second in the seven-team field at three-over. Henry Robards and Cole Hanson each finished in the top five, with Robards shooting two-under to place third, while Hanson shot one-under to finish in fifth.

Robards, a freshman, made a strong first impression with the Bears this fall. The native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. was Bears' top finisher in three of four fall events.
