
Mercer’s Late Rally Falls Short In Loss To Georgia State

MACON – Visiting Georgia State pounded out 13 hits and scored seven times to build a 7-0 lead after five innings of play, then held off a late-inning rally by Mercer on the way to a 7-5 victory over the Bears on Wednesday evening at Sikes Field.

It was the second-straight loss for the Bears (5-4) who will continue a 6-game home stand when it faces Alabama State in the opening game of the MUSB Invitational which will run through Sunday at Sikes Field. Wednesday's decision was the second-straight win for Georgia State (3-9) who also snapped a two-game slide in the series with the Orange & Black.
