JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – East Tennessee State combined for nine hits in its final three at-bats and put together a 3-run sixth inning to salvage its series against visiting Mercer with a 5-2 win over the Bears in Sunday's series finale at Betty Basler Field.

The setback snapped a three-game win streak for the Bears (22-22, 3-8 SoCon) who held a pair of leads in Sunday's series finale, including a 2-1 advantage in the top of the fifth. The Bucs (14-29, 3-9), who dropped both halves of Saturday's series opening doubleheader in Johnson City, Tenn., used Sunday's decision to halt an eight-game losing streak.

KEY INNINGS
TOP 5	Hallie Langford climbed aboard via a 1-out single, and then used an ensuing groundout and an ill-timed error by the Bucs to move all the way to third base. Mercer took its second lead of the afternoon two pitches later on a fielder's choice RBI off of the bat of Tori Hedgecock.
BOT 5	East Tennessee State tacked up three consecutive 2-out hits, including Natalie Green's RBI double to the gap in right field, to knot the game up for the second time at two runs apiece.
BOT 6	The hosts put a pair of runners into scoring position with their first three at-bats, and then took the lead for good on Sara Muir's 2-run double to left field. The Bucs loaded the bases up with their next two at-bats before adding an insurance score on Taylor Suchy's fielder's choice RBI.
