Mercer began the fall season on September 7 with the Golfweek Fall Challenge. The Bears finished in 8th place of 13 teams after finishing 11-under as a unit.
"Although we did not have a great team score every single day, we played really well in our first tournament," said head coach Jason Payne. "Our goal is to eliminate at least one mistake per guy every round. We have to limit the blemishes and put ourselves in the best position to compete on that final day."
Cole Hanson was the top-performing Bear throughout the opening competition. The graduate senior finished tied for 16th after shooting five-under.
Nathan Trodd posted a three-under 69 in the final day of the Golfweek Challenge to tie teammates Phillips Swift and Connor Holcroft for 37th individually.
Swift impressed in his collegiate debut. The freshman from Macon, Georgia, started the first tournament of his collegiate career three-under and tied for 18th after his opening round.
After three rounds of internal qualifying, the Bears have decided on the five guys that will be representing them in the Sandestin Collegiate Classic:
Mercer's Lineup
Henry Robards
Cole Hanson
Phillips Swift
Nathan Trodd

Connor Holcroft will also be competing in this tournament as an individual.
The first round begins on Monday, September 22 at 10 a.m.
