
Women's Golf Begins Fall Season in Albuquerque, New Mexico On Monday

Bears are playing in the Branch Law Firm / Dick McGuire Invitational
MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's golf team is set to open its fall season on Monday, Sept. 8 at the Branch Law Firm / Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The tournament - hosted by the University of New Mexico - is a 54-hole tournament played over two days with 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes being played on Tuesday.
This year's Mercer team features three returning players from last year's team along with three transfers. The Bears are coming off a 2024-25 season in which they won the Brickyard Collegiate in April and finished runner-up at the Mercer Invitational in October.
Graduate student Katie Scheck returns after being named to the 2024-25 All-Conference Team. The honor was the first in Scheck's career, who had a 73.9 strokes per round average over 30 rounds of golf during the season which ranked sixth in the conference. She had six top 20 finishes in 10 tournaments with her best finish being tied for eighth at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational.
Also returning from last season is Ella Mäki-Tanila and Mahima Vurupatur. The new additions on the team this year are three transfers in Riley Kim (Eastern Michigan), Bhoomi Jagtap (Flagler College) and Tylar Whiting (Daytona State).
