MACON – The Mercer softball team will close out a five-game road trip on Wednesday when the Bears load the bus and head to nearby Statesboro to take on Georgia Southern at the GS Softball Complex. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.

| Georgia Southern plated a pair of runs in each of the first two innings to provide more than enough offense to support Bailey Holland's solid outing from the circle as the Eagles snapped a three-game series skid with a 4-1 victory over the Bears on Wednesday at the GS Softball Complex. The setback marked the last rung in a five-game road trip for Mercer who played error-free softball for the sixth time this season, but mustered just a 1-for-9 clip with runners on the base paths. | |

| The Bears (16-21, 4-5 SoCon) have already tacked up 15 wins in Macon this season – their most since the 2018 campaign – and have hit .299 in 23 games at Sikes Field, while also tacking up 5.6 runs per game. The Orange & Black have been solid from the circle in their home stadium as well, tallying a collective 4.61 earned run average while limiting opponents to a .290 hitting clip. Olivia Lenzen has compiled a .444 batting average at Sikes Field, and has recorded five of her seven home runs on the season in Middle Georgia as well. Junior Grace Roark has picked up all three of her wins from the circle this season at home, while fellow right-hander Grace McKillop boasts a staff-best five home victories. | |

| The Paladins (7-31, 1-8 SoCon) have won two out of their last three games, including a 3-0 shutout of Southern Conference-leading UNC Greensboro on Sunday in the series finale between the two squads in Greensboro, N.C. That triumph also put the kibosh on a 16-game road losing streak for Furman that dated back to the 2025 season. Furman has compiled a .276 team batting average this season, but has mustered just 3.8 runs per game. Four Paladins are hitting at or above the .300 plateau, including sophomore AB Cipalla who shows a .327 batting average with eight doubles and 14 RBI. Reigning SoCon Pitcher of the Week Kristyn Embler (5-10, 6.92 ERA) has worked a bulk of the innings (84.0) for FU's pitching staff in 2026 and boasts a staff-high 40 strikeouts. | |

| Mercer leads the 28-year-old series, 30-16, and will ride an eight-game series win streak into the weekend. The Paladins will be searching for their first win over the Orange & Black since a 1-0 triumph in Greenville, S.C., on April 15, 2023.
