MACON – Mercer used a hit, three free passes and an error on the game's final play to plate a trio of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and walk off Furman, 5-4, in Sunday's series finale at Sikes Field.

The victory salvaged the weekend set for the Bears (17-23, 5-7 SoCon) who dropped both ends of Saturday's series-opening doubleheader in Macon. The decision snapped a three-game win streak for Furman (9-32, 3-9).

KEY INNINGS
TOP 5	Kristyn Ember reached on a leadoff bean ball, moved into scoring position on a stolen base and eventually gave the Paladins a 4-2 lead on the shoulders of an errant throw on a stolen base attempt.
BOT 7	Megan Loughren (hit by pitch), pinch hitter Ashlyn Ullman (walk) and Meredith Wayland (infield single) all reached base safely to load the bases with just one out showing. An all-timed passed ball pulled the Bears to within a run. Avery Barton delivered the goods two batters later when she put in a ball in play that was mishandled by the Furman infield, and then thrown away in an attempt to get Barton running to the first base bag.
