Three-run seventh-inning rally falls short

Trailing 9-3 entering the home half of the seventh, Mercer (9-8) scored three runs on three hits, a walk and a hit batsman, but eventually fell short after squandering an early 3-0 lead through two innings of play. Runs batted in came from Maxine Rodriguez, Caroline Taylor and Danielle Castleberry in the seventh.

Three home runs powered Florida A&M (3-16-1) to its third victory of the year. Stella Preston (3-3) took the loss for the Bears despite striking out seven batters over six innings of work.

PLAYER OF THE GAME
Caroline Taylor broke out of a recent slump with a 2-for-3 performance, smacking a pair of doubles and adding a RBI. The performance was Taylor's second multi-hit game of the season.
