Taylor Miller picks up three hits, three stolen bases in the loss
ORLANDO, Fla. – An early three-run advantage was not enough for Mercer to open its weekend with a win as Kansas rallied with a pair of runs in the seventh inning to earn a walk-off, 5-4 victory Friday afternoon at the D9 Citrus Classic II.

The game-winning run scored on an error at shortstop after the Jayhawks had previously tied the game on a RBI-double in the previous at bat. Jill McElderry (2-4) received the loss for Mercer (9-9) despite going the distance.

Mercer chased Jayhawks (12-6) ace Alexis Reid out of the game will 11 hits through four innings. The Bears took a 3-0 lead with four of those hits in the third frame. Megan Lane and RBI-single by Quirisa Mauga. After a single by Abby Walsh kept the threat alive, Mauga scored on a throwing error by the Kansas catcher.
