Bears Host Bulldogs on Sunday

MACON, Ga. – Mercer will host Butler on Sunday for the third game of the Bears' five-game home stand. The Bears and the Bulldogs will meet for the first time at 12 p.m. at Five Star Stadium.

Lindsey Zeltwanger tied her career high of 7 goals and set program single-game records with 13 points and six assists against Gardner-Webb. Zeltwanger's 13 points also set a single-game high in the nation, which still stands.

Zeltwanger's performance against GWU gave her 23 points on the year, ranking her first in the ASUN and 19th nationally. Additionally, she leads the nation with 7.67 points per game. With 23 points, Zeltwanger has earned her third spot on Mercer's single-season point leaderboard and has her just seven points out of sixth place. She currently holds the top two spots on the list.

SHARING IS CARING
Mercer is averaging 10.67 assists per game, leading the ASUN and ranking second nationally. After her program-record six assists against Gardner-Webb, Zeltwanger moved into first place in the nation with 4.00 assists per game. She is also ranked eighth in the nation with 12 total assists.

Zeltwanger's 12 assists currently ranks fifth on Mercer's single-season leaderboard. She is just eight assists away from third place and also holds the top two spots.

The Bears have led in the draw circle in two of their three games, leading to Mercer averaging 16.67 draw controls per game. Mercer ranks sixth in the nation and first in the ASUN in draw controls.

Meghan Segreti leads the ASUN and ranks fifth nationally with 7.67 draw controls per game. With 23 draw controls this year, she ranks sixth in program history on the single-season leaderboard. Segreti, who is Mercer's career leader in draw controls, is 69 draw controls away from the 200th of her career.

GROUND BALLS APLENTY
The Bears are currently second in the ASUN and seventh nationally with 23.00 ground balls per game. Haleigh Wurzel is currently seventh in the conference and 26th nationally with 3.67 ground balls per game. Her 11 ground balls this season are buoyed by her program-record eight against Presbyterian.

Mercer started its third season off with a bang, cruising past Presbyterian 23-13 on Feb. 11. This is the second season in which Mercer has won the first game of the year, as the Bears also opened the 2015 campaign with a win.

SCOUTING BUTLER
Butler started its inaugural season on Feb. 12 of this season. The Bulldogs are 0-4 on the season, recording their closest loss on Feb. 26 against Saint Mary's, 16-11.

Haley Hallenbeck leads Butler with 14 goals and 16 points. She also leads the Bulldogs with 11 ground balls and seven caused turnovers, while ranking second on the team with 10 draw controls.

Journey Fischbeck has dished out a team-leading seven assists and has added six goals to ranks second for the Bulldogs with 13 points. Ashley Lizzi had grabbed a team-leading 14 draw controls. Lizzi also has three ground balls, three caused turnovers and a pair of goals.

Haley Rayburn and Allie Storke have split time in goal almost evenly this season. Rayburn has made 18 saves and allowed 36 goals for a .333 save percentage and 18.75 goals-against average. Storke has made 16 saves and allowed 35 goals for a .314 save percentage and 16.83 GAA.
