GREENVILLE, S.C. – Megan Bilgri pitched a complete game and struck out three in an impressive performance but Mercer dropped a pitching duel in the first of a three-game series at Furman, 1-0, Friday afternoon at Pepsi Stadium in Greenville.

Mercer (19-25, 5-5 Southern) fell prey to the SoCon's leading pitcher with 12 strikeouts at the plate. Bilgri (8-6) maintained her position with the second-best ERA in the SoCon after not allowing an earned run on four hits, issuing only one walk. It marked her seventh game this season not allowing an earned run.

The pitching duel – which featured the top two aces in the league – witnessed a combined 15 strikeouts and only six hits in the game.
