Game 1: Mercer 10, Buffalo 3
For the second consecutive day, Mercer plated 10 runs against the Bulls of Buffalo, this time holding the visiting squad to just three runs. The Bears scored the game's first seven runs in just two innings of work, led by Megan Lane's three RBIs, including a two-run blast to right center field. The Bulls closed the gap to 7-3 in the top of the fourth inning, but Mercer responded with three unanswered runs of its own to extend the gap back to seven.
Â
Lane and Shaila Warren finished the game with three hits apiece as Lane ended the game with four RBIs and one homerun and Warren connected on two doubles. Caroline Taylor concluded the game with two hits, while freshman second baseman Laurenne Sanchez ended the game with two RBIs. The Bears plated two runs in the bottom of the first inning, capped off by Abby Walsh's sacrifice fly to plate Sanchez from third. After the Chippewas cut the Mercer lead in half in the top half of the second, the Bears scored two runs in the bottom of the frame following a passed ball and throwing error by the Central Michigan catcher, allowing Warren and Meghan Rud to cross the plate.

However, the Bears proved resilient in plating four runs in the bottom of the sixth to put the game out of reach. Amanda Schwartz and Emma Andrew capped off the scoring with back-to-back bases-loaded singles.
