
Mercer Travels to Alabama for Jaguar Challenge

Mercer will play five games against Tulsa, Lipscomb, South Alabama and North Dakota
MACON, Ga. – Mercer will travel to Mobile, Ala. this weekend to compete in the South Alabama-hosted Jaguar Challenge for its first road trip of the 2019 season.

The Bears will take on Tulsa, Lipscomb (twice), South Alabama and North Dakota over a three-day span, starting at 10:30 a.m. (ET) on Friday. Â Live stats will be available for all five Mercer games. There will be live video stream for the Bears' third game against host South Alabama.

NOTABLES
Tulsa started its 2019 season in Baton Rouge, La. at the Tiger Classic where the Golden Hurricanes went 2-3. The team fell twice against #11 LSU, while splitting with Bucknell and overcoming Iowa. Juli Hollingsworth, who totaled eight hits and averaging a .533 batting average, led the Golden Hurricanes.

SCOUTING LIPSCOMB
Lipscomb traveled to Lake Charles, La. to compete in the Cowgirl Classic against Campbell, Samford, #14 Arkansas and McNeese St. Jordan Fortel and Peyton Ward, who both notched seven hits during the tournament, led the Bison. Kate Turner leads with four RBIs so far this season. Turner also went 2-0 in the circle for the Bison and earned a 0.64 ERA.

SCOUTING SOUTH ALABAMA
South Alabama began 2019 in the Sand Dollar Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala. last weekend, going up against Missouri State, Tennessee State, Louisiana Tech and Western Kentucky. The Jaguars were able to pick up a 9-1 win against Tennessee State. Brittani Reid led the offense by connecting on four hits and two RBIs with a .364 batting average.

SCOUTING NORTH DAKOTA
North Dakota traveled to Las Vegas, Nev. to participate in the Marucci Desert Classic last weekend. The Fighting Hawks went 1-4, picking up a 2-1 win over #25 Long Beach State and falling to Utah Valley (4-8), UNLV (1-10), Southern Utah (6-7) and Seton Hall (4-6). Four Fighting Hawks picked up four hits each over the weekend.
