Mercer to play a pair against Florida this weekend

MACON, Ga. – Mercer will travel to Gainesville, Fla. to take on the No. 6-nationally ranked Florida Gators in a pair of games this weekend.

The Bears (13-18) open the weekend on Saturday, March 23 at 4 p.m. before turning around to face the Gators (25-6) again at 1 p.m. Sunday. Saturday's game will be streamed live on the SEC Network and live stats will also be provided for both days.

Bailey Pattison leads Mercer in the circle with a 3.66 ERA and seven wins. The freshman has seen action in 80.1 innings and has struck out 43 batters.
Fellow freshman, Lynn Gardner, has also recorded six wins this season and has 85.0 innings pitched. The lefty has struck out 42 batters.

SERIES HISTORY
Florida leads the overall series history, 6-0. The two teams last faced off in Gainesville, Fla. where the Gators walked away with the 10-3 win.

SCOUTING FLORIDA
Florida enters the weekend with a 25-6 record, having fallen to #2 UCLA (1-7 & 0-4), #7 Tennessee (1-9 & 0-3) and LSU (0-8 & 2-3). The Gators are led by Amanda Lorenz who owns a .420 batting average, 37 hits, 27 runs, five doubles, eight home runs and 24 RBIs. Kelly Barnhill is the Gators' top arm in the circle with a 16-3 record and a 1.29 ERA. The senior has struck out 156 batters in 103.0 innings.
