
Men’s Tennis Loses to In-State Foe Kennesaw State

Bears fall to the Owls, 6-1
KENNESAW, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team was defeated by in-state opponent Kennesaw State, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon in Kennesaw.
The Bears dropped the doubles point as the Owls won No. 2 doubles 6-1 and No. 3 doubles, 6-2. Hugo Lobo and Lucas Wayenburg were battled in No. 1 doubles put the match ended unfinished at 4-4.
Mercer battled in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, with both going three sets. Lobo dropped the first set 6-4 but responded by winning set two, 6-4, forcing a third set. Sebastian Osorio and Lobo continued of going 6-4 in favor of Osorio and Lobo dropped the set.
Wayenburg came out taking the first set, 7-5, but dropped the second set, 6-1 to Sergio Ingles. In the final and deciding set, Wayenburg finished out the match with a 6-2 victory. Wayenburgs win in No. 2 singles would be the only win for Mercer on the day.
