Mercer closes the regular season out the regular season Saturday
MACON, Ga – The Mercer men's tennis team closes out the 2021 regular season on Saturday when it hosts Samford in Southern Conference action. The Bears and Bulldogs will start at 11 a.m. at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.

Scouting the Bulldogs
Samford enters the weekend with a record of 12-6 and 5-0 in the Southern Conference. The Bulldogs are riding a six-match winnign streak. Samford has not lost since March 13 at South Florida and is 4-4 in road matches this season.
In singles, the Bulldogs are winning 67 percent of their matches. Rossouw Norval has 10 wins, all from the No. 1 position. Tomas Santantonio leads the team with 14 wins and has won 12 consecutive matches. Santantonio has played in No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Ten of his wins came when playing No. 5 singles. The Bulldogs have five players with 10 or more matches this season.
In doubles, Victor Chaw and Jim Hendrikx, Samford's 33rd-ranked team in the country, lead the way. They hold a mark of 12-1 on the season with all but one win coming in the No. 1 doubles flight. Eladio Fabregas and Tomas Santantonio follow with 10 wins. As a team, Samford has only lost 12 doubles matches.
