Men’s Tennis Travels to The Citadel

MACON, Ga – The Mercer men's tennis team travels to Charleston, S.C., to face The Citadel in Southern Conference action. The Bears and Bulldogs will play twice on Wednesday, with one being a non-conference matchup.

Scouting the Bulldogs
The Citadel enters the matches with the Bears with a record of 5-14 and an 0-4 mark in the Southern Conference. The Bulldogs won their last match on April 3 against USC Sumter, 6-1. The win snapped a nine-match losing streak.

In singles play, the Bulldogs are 25-77 as a team. Hayden Shoemake leads the team with five singles wins, with four of those victories coming at No. 3 singles. Will Graham has three wins this season, all in the No. 1 flight.

In doubles action, The Citadel is 12-36 on the season and has used 11 different teams. Zvonko Bencedic and Josiah Schainblatt have three doubles wins at No. 1 doubles. Grahm and Shoemake have the most wins on the team with four victories at No. 2 doubles.
