Mercer faces Georgia Tech
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Softball team hits the road for Atlanta to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Bears are coming off a 1-4 opening weekend in Tallahassee, Fl, winning their first game of the season over Loyola-Chicago, 4-3, in the last day of the tournament.Â

In their opening weekend, Junior, UTIL, Diamond Williams led the Bears in BA (.385), H (5), RBIs (3), HR (1), and TB (9). Williams tied freshman, IF, Tori Hedgecock with one double a piece. Sophomore, OF, Alyssa Woods led in R (3), and totaled one triple along with Senior, IF, Kenlie Harvey and Sophomore, IF, Annie Potter. Potter ranked second in H (4), and TB (6) and led in assists (10).Â

SCOUTING GEORGIA TECHÂ
The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 4-0 opening weekend at home as they hosted the Buzz Classic. In their first game against the St. Joseph's Hawks, the Jackets won 4-1. The Jackets were victorious in their next two matches against the Villanova Wildcats, winning 5-2 and 11-0 (5), respectively. The Jackets defeated the Hawks for the second time, 8-5. The game against the Marshall Thundering Herd was canceled. Tricia Awald led with a BA of .667 and tied for second in RBIs (6) and R (6). Emma Kauf totaled H (8) and led in TB (13). Awald, Kauf, and Emma Minghini totaled three doubles each. Kauf and Ella Edgmon recorded 3B (1). Awald and Minghini were the only homeruns of the weekend.Â
