Mercer to Play Iona and Stetson

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Softball team is set to host their second tournament of the season. This weekend, Mercer welcomes Iona and Stetson for the Mercer Bears Classic. Competition will be played over three days with one game on Friday, three on Saturday, and two on Sunday. Play will begin at 6:00 p.m. tonight when Mercer faces Iona.

MERCER OUTLOOK
Overall, the Bears are 3-16.

Rebeca Laudino leads in runs (10) and hits (14) while Adele Braun leads in RBIs with nine. Braun is the only Bear with two home runs this season. Alyssa Woods leads with two triples, while Braun and Tori Hedgecock are tied with three doubles. Hedgecock leads the team and the SoCon with 16 total walks. Hedgecock has the highest batting average at .350.

Hannah Pitts leads from the circle with an ERA of 5.11 and a WHIP of 1.19.

SCOUTING IONA
Overall, the Gaels are 3-6.

Haley Weaver and Jessica Chilcott are tied with four runs each. Natalia Meray leads with eight hits and is tied with Chilcott with two doubles. Brianna Bailey and Allie Taylor have each recorded one triple on the season. Weaver leads in walks (7) while Chilcott is the only Gael to record a home run. Gael has an RBI of seven. Meray holds the highest batting average with .267.

Kara Zazzaro leads from the circle with an ERA of 2.01 and a WHIP of 1.12.

SCOUTING STETSON
Overall, the Hatters are 9-14.

Haley Fox leads the team with 12 hits and holds the highest batting average of .375. Brianna Clary is the team leader in runs (12). Danielle Diaz and Juls Schumacher are tied with seven RBIs. Schumacher leads in doubles with four while Lizzie Shubert leads in triples with two. Schumacher and Jordyn Stanfill are tied with two home runs.

Lauren Hobbs leads from the circle with an ERA of 1.26.
