
Bears Struggle to Find a Win

Mercer defeated by Georgia and Dartmouth
Georgia 16, Mercer 6
The Bears would be the first on the board in the top of the second. Adele Braun led off with a double to right center. A sacrifice bunt by Tori Hedgecock advanced Braun and Diamond Williams, who reached first on a fielding error. Grace Prom hit a sacrifice fly ball, scoring Braun. A single from Tori Ash scored Williams. Alyssa Woods and Rebeca Laudino singled back-to-back, with the single from Laudino scoring Ash. At the end of the top of the second, Bears were up on the Bulldogs, 3-0.Â
Jayda Kearney walked and scored on a homerun by Jaiden Fields, bringing the game within one. Mercer 3, Georgia 2.Â
An early homer from Savana Sikes tied the game in the bottom of the third. Sydney Chambley singled, Sara Mosley walked, and Lacey Fincher was hit by the pitcher to load the bases. A double from Kearney scored Chambley and Mosley, giving the Bulldogs the lead. A single from Fields scored Fincher and a walk by Sydney Kuma reloaded the bases. A double by Lyndi Rae Davis scored all the runners on base before Davis scored on a ground ball by CJ Landrum. Mercer 3, Georgia 10.Â
In the top of the sixth, Woods walked and Laudino singled before a homer by Kenlie Harvey put the Bears within four. Mercer 6, Georgia 10.Â
The Bulldogs extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth. Mosley singled and scored after three straight walks for Fincher, Kearney, and Fields. A double by Kuma scored Kearney and Fincher. A single from Davis scored Fields and a ground ball from Landrum scored Kuma. A single by Sikes allowed Davis to score, putting the Bulldogs up by ten.Â
The Bears were unable to respond in the top of the fifth, ending the game (run rule).Â
Mercer 0, Dartmouth 5
Dartmouth reached the board fist in the bottom of the first. Alaana Panu reached on a fielding error and scored on a single by Kate Farren.Â
The first hit for the Bears would be from Woods in the top of the third.
Woods singled again in the top of the fifth, along with Laudino.
Dartmouth loaded bases in the bottom of the fifth starting with a single by Emily Lipsett. Jenna Brown walked, and Kira La Scola would be hit by the pitcher. A double from Izzy Kam scored Lipsett and Brown. A triple from Billie McFadyen scored Kam and Alexis Camacho, who pinch ran for La Scola. Mercer 0, Dartmouth 5.Â
Ash recorded a hit in the top of the seventh, but the Bears would finish the game scoreless.Â
