Mercer Falls to Kennesaw State
Macon, Ga.  – The Mercer Bears lost their rematch game against the Kennesaw State Owls in a seventh inning comeback.Â
Â
"I was happier with our at-bats tonight," said Head Coach Lindsay Fico. "I felt like we competed in the box throughout the order the best we have all season."
Â
"Our pitching was decent, but we gave up too many free bases and Kennesaw got the timely hit when they needed it."
Kennesaw State 7, Mercer 6
As the lead off Rebeca Laudino reached first and continued to second on an error by first base. Laudino advance to third with a single from Annie Potter. Kenlie Harvey walked to load the bases. Grace Prom followed suit with another walk, scoring Laudino.Â
Back-to-back singles for the Owls allowed them to have two on base before a hit by the pitcher to Hardeman loaded the bases. A single from Alexander scored Bailey and Cooper, giving the Owls a one-point lead. Kennesaw State two, Mercer one.
In the bottom of the second, Elisa Rosado singled, recording her first hit of the season.
The Bears regained their lead in the bottom of the third starting with another single from Potter. Diamond Williams homered scoring Potter, giving the Bears the lead. Prom would be hit by the pitcher, Tori Hedgecock would walk, and Tori Ash singled. Hedgecock would be out at second during the play, but Rosado answered at bat with a double, scoring Prom and advancing Ash to third. Laudino singled after Rosado scoring both Ash and Rosado. Mercer six, Kennesaw State two.
In the top of the fifth, Sales homered bringing the game within three.
