Mercer travels to UNCG

MACON, Ga. – Mercer travels to Greensboro, N.C. to begin Southern Conference play against UNCG.

MERCER OUTLOOK
The Bears are coming off a 1-3 weekend at Georgia, with a 10-2 win over Dartmouth. In their mid-week matchup against Kennesaw State, the Bears lost their lead to the Owls in the top of the seventh inning resulting in a 7-6 loss. The Bears enter the weekend 7-21.

Kenlie Harvey leads the team with a batting average of .319 and is the leader in homeruns with three. Rebeca Laudino leads in runs (17), hits (24), and RBIs (24). Adele Braun leads with five doubles. Alyssa Woods has two triples and Tori Hedgecock has 20 total walks.

Hannah Pitts leads from the circle with an ERA of 4.95 and a WHIP of 1.15.

SCOUTING UNCG
The Spartans currently hold a 17-10 record.

Maycin Brown is the leading batter with an average of .381. She leads in hits (32) and is tied with Grace Loftin with doubles (8). Delaney Cumbie is the run leader with 23 and leads in walks (15). Loftin is the RBI leader with 28 total. Blayke Batten is the only Spartan to record multiple triples on the season with two. Jordan Gontram, Makenna Matthijs, and Batten have six homeruns each.

Reese Byrd holds the lowest ERA (2.88) and Morgan Scott has the lowest WHIP (1.28). Byrd is 5-3 while Scott is 10-6 on the season.

Head Coach Janelle Breneman is within her tenth season.
