Mercer Scoreless Against Auburn
Macon, Ga.– In the out of conference mid-week game against Auburn, Mercer fell 10-0.Â
AUBURN 10, MERCER 0
The first two innings were slow for both the Bears and the Tigers.
In the top of the second, Auburn recorded one single and a walk.Â
For the Bears, Grace Prom walked in the bottom of the second.Â
The Tigers met the board in the top of the third with a leadoff single from Smith. A Garcia home run scored herself and Smith giving the Tigers a two-point lead. In the same inning Ellis homered, extending the lead to three.Â
The Tigers scored again in the top of the fourth with two errors allowing Roche the score, who reached base with a single.
In the top of the fifth, Lisenby singled and Blaine walked. Ellis reached on error advancing Blaine to second and scoring Lisenby. A ground ball from McCondichie scored Blaine. Auburn 6, Mercer 0.
Prom was the only Bear to record a hit with hers occurring in the bottom of the fifth. Prom singled to left field.
The Tigers lead increased by four in the top of the six. Smith reached first error and advanced to second with a bunt from Garcia. A walk from Lisenby loaded the bases before a Blaine double scored Smith and Garcia. Next at bat, Ellis singled to right field scoring Blaine and Lisenby. Auburn 10, Mercer 0.Â

The Bears will travel to Cullowhee, N.C. to face the Western Carolina Catamounts. The teams will play a 1:00 start doubleheader on Friday and a 1:00 p.m. game on Saturday.Â
