Mercer downed by Samford

Macon, Ga.– In their home conference season opener, the Mercer Bears were downed by the Samford Bulldogs.

SAMFORD 6, MERCER 0
Rebeca Laudino singled as the lead off in the bottom of the first. The next Mercer hit would be in the bottom of the seventh from Morgan Hall. Hall was the lead off and pinch hit for Elisa Rosado. Kenlie Harvey followed suit with a single to the short stop. Despite these efforts, the Bears recorded no runs.
The Bulldogs recorded six total runs.

SAMFORD 8, MERCER 0
Hall led the bottom of the second with a single to left field. Laudino led the fourth with a single followed by a walk from Rosado. Adele Braun singled in the bottom of the fifth. The final hit for the Bears would be a second from Laudino in the bottom of the sixth. Similar to the first game, the Bears would be unable to record a run compared to the eight from Samford.
