Bears fall to 4-4
FORT MYERS, Fla. –  The Mercer men's tennis program (4-4) dropped its match against Florida Gulf Coast (4-2), 6-1, on Friday evening. Marceau Foulihoux earned the lone point for the Bears with a singles win on court five.
Foulihoux improves to 5-2 in singles this season after the win over Max Damm. The sophomore won the first set 6-2, but Damm won the second 6-3. Foulihoux commandingly won the 10-point tiebreak, 10-2, to win the point for the Bears.
Samuel Barrow nearly won on court six after narrowly falling in the tiebreak, 11-9.
All three doubles pairs played close matches as Nemanja Stefanovic/Lucas Dini and Barrow/Andrew Branicki each were edged 6-4 on courts one and three, respectively. Mariano Argote/Samuel MacLeod were tied 5-5 on court two when FGCU secured the doubles point.
UP NEXT: Mercer will play FGCU again on Saturday, February 18 at 12 p.m.
