
Mercer Grabs Two Wins Over ABAC

Bears improve to 4-2 overall
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis program (4-2) claimed two wins over ABAC (0-2) on Sunday, winning 5-2 and 7-0. Marceau Foulihoux and Lucas Dini each finished 4-0, teaming up for two doubles wins in addition to their singles victories.
In the morning match, Samuel Barrow/Andrew Branicki on court two and Foulihoux/Dini on court three earned the doubles point for the Bears. Mariano Argote/Samuel MacLeod fell 6-4 to the 4th-ranked JUCO doubles team, Safar Rasulov/Aymen Alimoussa.
Branicki and Dini each earned straight-set victories in singles on court three and four, respectively. Branicki took down the 29th-ranked JUCO singles player, Noah Burton, 6-4, 6-3 while Dini defeated Luke Tinnock, the 38th-ranked JUCO singles player.
On court six, Barrow won the clinching point with a 6-0, 3-6, 6-2 win over Benjamin Ranby-al. Foulihoux won in three sets 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 on court five over Antoine Schaub.
Argote dropped a competitive match on court one to the No. 4 JUCO singles player, Rasulov, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3. MacLeod also battled on court two against the 16th-ranked JUCO singles player, Alimoussa. MacLeod won the first set, but fell 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 in the end.
The junior from Glasgow, Scotland, earned a win over Rasulov on court two in the afternoon match 0-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6). Argote also claimed a victory in the afternoon match against Alimoussa 6-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-5) on court one. The Mercer duo won in doubles on court two against Schaub/Ranby-al 7-6 in the second match of the day.
Dini and Branicki picked up their second singles wins of the day in straight-sets again. Dini defeated Burton 6-3, 6-3 on court three while Branicki beat Tinnock 6-2, 6-2 on court four.
Barrow and Foulihoux also earned their second singles wins as Barrow took down Elijah Myhre 6-2, 6-1 on court five and Foulihoux won 6-1, 6-1 over Matthew Rodgers on court six. Foulihoux and Dini secured their second 6-1 doubles win of the day on court three against Myhre/Rodgers. Barrow and Branicki fell to 4th-ranked pair Rasulov/Alimoussa.
