Alabama State Hornets Come to Macon

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer softball team will host a midweek home game against Alabama State.

"I'm proud of how the team competed this weekend at UF," said head coach Fico. "Looking forward to hosting Alabama State and seeing how the team continues to build on the momentum we are starting to feel in the lineup. Our pitching staff will be ready to pick up right where they left off as well."

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
The Hornets are 13-9 on the season after their first conference (SWAC) weekend. Alabama State is on a two-game winning streak and will play Southern Conference member Samford University on Tuesday (March 14). The Bears lead the series 15-4, winning the last four of the five meetings. Mercer will have to look out for sophomore pitcher Olivia Brown who is 4-0 on the season. In her contest with Mississippi Valley State, this past weekend she recorded five unearned runs on four hits with three strikeouts.
