Macon,GA. – Bears completed their series against the University of Western Carolina this afternoon with a strong 5-0 win.

How It Happened
    Not much for the Catamounts in the top of the first with one stranded. Bailey Ledvina homered to center field to get the Bears on top, 1-0. Bears served a three up three down in the second. Tori Hedgecock walked and was advance on a double from Madi Wicker. Sophie Sumner grounded out to first to bring home Hedgecock. Rebeca Laudino reached on an error and Wicker came home. Bears finished the second with two runs on two hits and in the lead, 3-0.
    Not much happened in the third. Mercer kept one on in the top of the fourth. Avery Barton walked and was advanced by a single from Rebeca Laudino. They were moved to scoring position by a wild pitch, but was left on. The Bears sat the Catamounts down in order in the top of the fifth. Wicker singled up the middle and was quickly joined by Sophie Sumner. With two outs, Catamounts walked Barton to juice the bases. Alyssa Woods singled up the middle to bring Wicker home. Mercer led going into the sixth 5-0.
    The Catamounts got one on in the top of the sixth, but was caught stealing by Sumner and Laudino. Helm picked up another hit in the bottom of the sixth. The top of the seventh was a three up three down for the Catamounts finished with a strikeout from Grace Taylor.

    The Bears will have a midweek contest against the University of Georgia before returning home to host ETSU.
