
Bears Take On Drexel At Bobby Dodd Stadium

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's lacrosse team is set to face Drexel at Bobby Dodd Stadium for the 2025 Atlanta Lacrosse Invitational on Saturday, March 1 at 4 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the second meeting these two squads. The last time the Bears and Dragons met was March 26, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pa. Drexel came out on top defeating Mercer 12-5.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bears faced an eighth-ranked Army team on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Naples, Fla. for the Southwest Florida Shootout Tournament. Despite a near shutout first quarter for Mercer, the Black Knights were too much for the Bears, defeating them 17-4.
The Bears were led by sophomore Dillon Bush who posted two goals on the afternoon. Matthew Brian recorded his second goal of the season off of an impressive assist from Will Zylstra and Kade McNeil found the back of the net for the first time as a Bear. Mercer's defense caused a combined seven turnovers and freshman Brady Corkill scooped up four groundballs. Between the pipes senior goalkeeper Rand Paddack posted 26 saves, a career-high.
SCOUTING DREXEL
The Dragons are led by Steve Boyle who enters his first season at the helm for Drexel. The Dragons finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 6-9 and a 3-4 record in the CAA. Drexel currently sits with a record of 2-2 with wins over Lafayette and NJIT and suffered losses to the University of Albany and UMBC.
The leading goal scorer, currently, for the Dragons is Witt Crawford with nine goals and three assists across four games. Following closely behind is Conor Hooley who has 13 points with six goals and seven assists on the season. On the defensive side of the field, Liam Kammar and Pat Lyman combined for 21 groundballs and 11 caused turnovers across four games. Goalkeeper Drew McGill has recorded 21 saves (.389) on the season.
