Bears Finish Off Season Sweep Of West Georgia
3/19/2025 7:33:00 PM | Softball
MACON – Visiting Mercer recorded 10 or more hits for the third time in the last five games and tacked up 4-spots in the first and third innings on the way to an 11-4 rout of West Georgia on Wednesday afternoon at UWG's University Softball Field.
The triumph snapped a two-game skid for the Bears (16-14) who used Wednesday's decision to finish off a home-and-home season sweep of the Wolves. It was the seventh loss in the last eight games for West Georgia (9-16) who dropped a 4-3 contest to MU earlier this season in Macon.
Six players registered at least one base hit for the Orange & Black, including 3-hit outings from both Hallie Langford and Taylor Rogers. Hannah Pitts (4-2) struck out four in three innings of relief to pick up the win for the visitors. Starter Katheryn Rearley pitched the first three innings of the afternoon, while Grace Taylor struck out two in her season debut in the fourth frame, but neither was awarded a decision.
