GREENVILLE, S.C. – Visiting Mercer plated lone runs in the first and fifth innings to tough out a 2-0 win in the opener, and then went buck wild in the scoring column on the way to a series-clinching 16-0 rout in the nightcap, as the Bears registered a weekend-opening doubleheader sweep of Furman to reach the 30-win plateau for the first time in seven years.

It was the 10^th and 11^th wins in the last 13 outings for Mercer (30-23, 10-9 SoCon) who tacked up its fourth-straight Southern Conference series win on Saturday as well. Furman (15-36, 5-15) has now dropped 14 of its last 16 contests, as well as six-straight in the series with the Orange & Black.

KEY INNINGS (GAME 1)
TOP 1	Hallie Langford reached with the first at-bat of the series on a costly fielding error, swiped second base to move into scoring position and eventually gave MU the lead for good on a RBI groundout from Tori Hedgecock.
TOP 5	Hallie Langford legged out an infield single, swiped second to move into scoring position and later scored on Tori Hedgecock's 2-out RBI double to the gap in right field.

KEY INNINGS (GAME 2)
TOP 3	Hallie Langford and Sydney Harris both singled to lead off the frame, and then used a double steal to move into scoring position. Tori Hedgecock's RBI groundout one pitch later plated Langford with the eventual game-winning run. Hannah Rivers and Sietske Drijvers hit consecutive 1-out RBI singles later in the frame made it a 3-0 lead for the Bears.
