| Admission is free to all home non-tournament games at Sikes Field during the 2026 season. | |
| Â Â LAST TIME OUT | |
| Jessie Taylor got visiting Mercer on the board with a leadoff blast in the top of the second inning, but 11th-ranked Georgia pounded out 17 hits, including five of the extra-base variety, on the way to an 18-1 victory over the Bears on Wednesday evening at Jack Turner Stadium. The setback kept the Bears winless away from Macon this season. | |
| Â Â ABOUT MERCER | |
| All 13 wins for the Bears (13-16, 1-2 SoCon) this season have come in the comfy confines of Sikes Field. Mercer has compiled a .302 batting clip and scored 5.7 runs per game in 20 games at Sikes Field in 2026, while also registering a 4.49 team earned run average in their home stadium as well. Five players boast averages of .313 or better across that home span, including junior Olivia Lenzen who is hitting .422 (19-for-45) with seven extra-base hits (3 HR) and seven RBI at Sikes Field. Home and away, the Bears have mustered a .269 batting clip this season, with Lenzen leading the charge with a .365 batting clip. Senior Avery Barton is among the league's top power hitters with a SoCon-best 10 home runs and a .740 slugging percentage, while two-way player Grace Jones sports a .333 batting average with 11 extra-base hits and 16 RBI, while also boasting a trio of victories from the pitcher's circle. | |
| Â Â SCOUTING WOFFORD | |
| The Terriers (23-6, 2-1 SoCon) have rattled off an 18-1 home record this season, and opened Southern Conference play last weekend with a series win at defending league regular season champion Chattanooga. Wofford will ride the league's most potent offenses into Macon this weekend, one that includes a .354 team batting average (17th NCAA) that complements a SoCon-best .452 on-base percentage (14th NCAA) and 7.4 runs per game (24th NCAA). Three players sport hitting clips at or above the .400 plateau, including junior Desirae Devine who is hitting .485 with 19 stolen bases and 23 runs scored. The Terriers are solid from the circle as well, toting a 3.77 team earned run average that is fueled by junior Abby Greenwood (9-1, 2.46 ERA). | |
| Â Â MERCER/WOFFORD SERIES | |
| The Bears and Terriers have split eight previous meetings, but Mercer stopped a three-game series skid with a 5-2 victory over Wofford in the 2025 Southern Conference Tournament in Spartanburg, S.C. MU took the first two games of a three-game home set amid Wofford's inaugural season as a program in 2024, but the Terriers registered a weekend sweep of the visiting Bears last season. | |
| Â Â ON DECK | |
| Following this weekend's conference tilts, the Bears will open up a 5-game road trip on Wednesday when they head to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech (19-17) at Shirley Clements Mewborn Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. | |
